Indian news agency ANI has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in a New Delhi court, accusing the company of using its published content without permission to train the ChatGPT chatbot. This marks the latest legal challenge OpenAI faces from news organizations worldwide.
ANI’s legal action follows similar lawsuits filed in the United States by prominent newspapers such as the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune, which also accused OpenAI of utilizing their copyrighted material without consent. In response, OpenAI has claimed that it has ceased using such content for training purposes.
The case underscores growing concerns over the use of proprietary content by AI companies and the legal implications of training artificial intelligence models on publicly available information
